Laiteries Réunies de Genève drives its omnichannel strategy with Easy DOM

August 28, 2024

Laiteries Réunies de Genève (LRG) will implement Mecalux’s Easy DOM (distributed order management) system to centralize its logistics operations. This solution will enable LRG to optimize stock control and the management of its warehouses in Plan-les Ouates and Bannwil (Switzerland).

Laiteries Réunies de Genève will implement Easy DOM software in its Swiss warehouses

“Logistics is instrumental for guaranteeing deliveries in under 24 hours in France and Switzerland. As we deal with food products, our logistics processes are complex and demanding. We seek maximum efficiency in all operations, spanning goods receipt, product labeling, co-packing, and order shipping,” says Jean-Pierre Dunand, Head of Sales and Logistics at LRG.

Mecalux’s Easy DOM software will enable the company to implement its omnichannel strategy. With this solution, the business will consolidate all its orders by sales channel to streamline their subsequent shipment. Easy DOM will also improve communication between the various management software applications to optimize order processing, regardless of origin (logistics facilities, stores, online sales, etc.).

“Our mission is to offer our clients a high level of service, with timely, error-free deliveries,” says Dunand. Easy DOM will streamline order fulfillment by distributing work among operators and providing them with precise instructions.

The company will also implement Mecalux’s Easy WMS warehouse management system. This tool will enable the Swiss cooperative to offer its clients a wider range of services. The company will install eight modules of this digital solution:

  • Multi-Carrier Shipping Software. This Easy WMS module fosters speedy, efficient order delivery. With this application, LRG operators will pack, label, and ship goods rapidly and without errors.
  • Labor Management System (LMS). The company will measure operator performance in its two temperature-controlled logistics facilities to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Slotting for WMS. LRG will automate location management. The module will determine the optimal position for each SKU based on predetermined criteria.
  • WMS for 3PL. LRG, which manages fresh food products for Swiss and international brands and retailers, will be able to enhance its strategy as a logistics service provider. This module consists of three submodules: 3PL Client Portal, which informs clients about their stock status; 3PL Billing, which generates billing reports on services provided; and Client-Specific Rules, which tailors processes to each user’s requirements.
