Easy WMS software will ensure the traceability of Friman’s dry, refrigerated, and frozen products across two warehouses at different temperatures.
Food distribution company Friman will install Mecalux’s Easy WMS in two facilities: its freezer warehouse in Sant Fruitós de Bages and its logistics center in Barcelona’s Mercabarna wholesale complex. The software will ensure the traceability of goods from their arrival at the facilities to their shipment.
Easy WMS will be integrated with Friman’s Drivin Transportation Management System (TMS) to plan and organize shipments to over 2,300 clients throughout Spain, southern France, and Andorra. The two systems will interface to optimize vehicle loading processes and efficiently manage routes. This will streamline deliveries, prioritizing customer satisfaction and loyalty while reducing operational costs to enhance competitiveness.
“Our objectives are to preserve the cold chain for food, provide the necessary storage space for each client, and deliver comprehensive, effective logistics service,” says Pere Valls, Operations Manager at Friman. The software will organize operations, outlining tasks for workers step by step to minimize potential errors.
In the freezer warehouse in Sant Fruitós de Bages, operators will use a pick by voice system. With this solution, they will receive instructions via Bluetooth headphones and confirm task completion with a microphone.

Mecalux’s digital solution will enable Friman to efficiently manage growing market demand while supporting its growth and pace of expansion. The company’s strategic priority is to continue strengthening its distribution business model, which forms the core of its operations. At the same time, Friman is developing a logistics service provider unit, which already has clients. This will allow the organization to expand its capabilities and explore new business opportunities. To that end, Friman will implement 3PL Billing. This Easy WMS module will enable the company to generate billing reports specifying the services provided for each client.
