PMP Fermentation Products: optimized space with a semi-automated system

PMP Fermentation Products, a world leader in the fermentation of natural products, will install the semi-automated Pallet Shuttle system from Interlake Mecalux in its warehouse in Illinois. With this solution, the company will maximize its storage area to house a greater number of pallets in the smallest possible space.

Interlake Mecalux will set up two compact racking units, each of which will occupy just 2153 ft². In total, PMP Fermentation Products will be able to store 575 pallets, to be managed according to the LIFO (last in, first out) criterion.

With a capacity of 12 pallets deep, the semi-automated Pallet Shuttle system will achieve a high throughput by reducing goods loading and unloading times. To carry out these two operations, employees will use a Wi-Fi-connected tablet to send orders to the motorized shuttles.

Besides reducing times, the main advantage of this system is that it makes the most of the available space. As a result, PMP Fermentation Products will have a highly competitive solution in the smallest space possible.
