In issue No. 33 of Best Practices magazine, we announce that the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL) has commissioned a lab supported by Mecalux to research the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in logistics. This will be the starting point for a research collaboration between MIT CTL and Mecalux that will take place over the next few years.

For example, German industrial service provider WISAG tracks 10,000 SKUs belonging to different customers with the Mecalux Group’s Easy WMS warehouse management system. Organizations such as ADA in Portugal and Laiterie Saint-Père in France have also increased their production rate by automating their intralogistics operations.

The newest issue of the Mecalux Group’s Best Practices magazine is now out, brimming with the trends and technological innovations redefining the logistics landscape.

The fifteenth issue of our Best Practices magazine contains thirteen projects by companies whose supply chains have benefited from Mecalux's collaboration. Among these ventures, the new Luís Simões centre stands out, where more than 100,000 pallets are stored and around 4,000 orders are prepared daily thanks to an automatic warehouse that acts as an order sequencer. HAVI, on the other hand, runs a warehouse in Portugal split into three areas and which operates at ambient and refrigerated temperatures, or down to -4 ºF.

In the field of non-automated warehouses, discover how Adidas can now store 16 million boxes and prepare 150,000 daily orders for online and retail sales. Likewise, three case studies show that, despite not being equipped with automated solutions, various companies have successfully rolled out Easy WMS, Interlake Mecalux's management software.
